Rapinyaires

Feia dies que volia anar a observar àligues i el dia 17 de juliol, vam anar al Pla de Martís, on sabia que hi havia exemplars d'àliga marcenca (Circaetus gallicus). Aquest ocell pertany a la família dels falconiformes, i és una mica més petit que l'àliga daurada. L'àliga marcenca és un ocell relativament fàcil de veure en tota la Península Ibèrica, sobretot a l'estiu.

Vam recórrer tota la zona, però no vam poder veure l'àliga. Tot i això, vam poder observar un milà reial (Milvus milvus). Planava per damunt nostre i vàrem aconseguir almenys una foto bona. També vam poder observar altres ocells, com  la cornella negra, l'aligot comú, el xoriguer i el corb, dels quals ja teníem fotografies.

Però la millor fotografia va ser d'un mussol comú (Athene noctua). Aquest exemplar ja feia temps que voltava per la zona, però totes les fotos sortien fosques, ja que eren tirades de nit. Per fi vam aconseguir fotografiar l'ocell quan encara era clar, ja que aquesta espècie també és activa durant el dia. Vam tenir la sort d'apropar-nos-hi sense que marxés i vam aconseguir unes bones fotos. Aquí us en deixo dues:

Some days ago, I wanted to see eagles, and finally at the 17th July, we went to the Pla de Martís, where I knew there were Short-Toed Eagles (Circaetus gallincus). This bird belongs to the family of the falconiformes. It's smaller than the golden eagle. The Short-Toed Eagle is easy to see at the Iberian Peninsula, specially at summer.

We toured all the zone, but we couldn't see the eagle. However, we could see a Red Kite (Milvus milvus). It flew over our heads and we could take good photos of it. We also could see another birds, like the Carrion Crow, the Common Buzzard, the Kestrel and the Raven. We already had photographed of them.

However, the best photo was certainly one of a Little Owl (Athene noctua). This owl lives in the zone, and it also has a nest on it. We already tried to took a photo of it, but it was at night and the photos were dark. Finally, we could took a great photo of the bird. It was possible because the Little Owl is also active during the day. We were able to go close the owl, and we could took great photos. There are two of them:

Aquest mussol comú viu a una masia mig abandonada, on té el niu. A la nit, baixa als camps de blat per caçar ratolins, i després porta les preses als seus polls.

This Little Owl lives in an abandoned farmhouse, where it has got its nest. At night, it goes to the wheat field to hunt mouses, and then it takes them to its chicks.
